The One Board Model, also known as the Single Board Model, is a governance structure adopted by some United Methodist Churches to simplify decision-making processes and enhance communication. This model is based on ¶247.2 of the 2016 Book of Discipline and is designed to move churches from four administrative committees to one Leadership Board, which encapsulates all responsibilities and authority of the previous committees. The model aims to improve resource allocation, communication, leadership development, and alignment with the church's mission and vision. It is supported by the Healthy Church Initiative and is seen as a solution to the challenges of church governance, such as the difficulty of finding willing and able leaders to serve in leadership and membership positions on various committees.
